what is community herbalism, and how does it differ from clinical herbalism?

Note: Neither of these is a better or worse CARE Model - just different, and we want to make sure we are clear on what Community Herbal care with us looks like.

Community herbalism is for the people by the people. It is a ground-level mycelial network of mutual benefit. In contrast, clinical herbalism is often a top-down approach that is one-directional, from the practitioner to the client.

  • Herbal preparations: Aim to use accessible, available herbs

CLINICAL HERBAL CARE

  • Herbal preparations: May or may not aim to use accessible herbs

  • Spirituality: May or may not be part of the process; practitioner-dependent
